News Story: DPRK blasts U.S. for extending joint drills with S. Korea

PYONGYANG, May 31 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Wednesday blasted the United States and South Korea for planning to extend their joint naval exercises in the East Sea of Korea to the end of June.

According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the United States plans to deploy the task force of the Ronald Reagan nuclear carrier from the Yokosuka base to join the strike group of nuclear aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, which is already in the drill, to stage the largest-ever joint exercises of its kind from next month.
