Cubic Global Defense to support Navy Synthetic Warfighting Centre with development and delivery of simulation-enabled training events

SAN DIEGO – Aug. 7, 2017 – Cubic Global Defense (CGD), a business unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), today announced that Cubic Defence Australia has been selected as the primary contractor for the development and delivery of local and distributed simulation-enabled training events for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). The four-year contract, valued at approximately USD $7.11 million or AUD $9 million, provides a wide range of simulation planning, technical support and professional interactors to enhance RAN’s multisite synthetic training events at the Navy Synthetic Warfighting Centre (NSWC).

The NSWC was recently established at the HMAS Watson Naval Base on Sydney Harbour. The NSWC will facilitate synthetic training events and focus on delivering local and distributed mission training activities in both land-based simulators and ships in an agile manner.

Cubic Global Defense provided planning, execution and field training support for biennial training exercise 

SAN DIEGO – Aug. 2, 2017 – Cubic Global Defense (CGD), a business unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB), today announced its successful participation in the Talisman Sabre 2017 (TS17). TS17 is a biennial Australian and U.S. combined training activity designed to improve combat readiness and interoperability for military forces on a variety of missions ranging from conventional conflict to peacekeeping and humanitarian assistance. Involving over 30,000 Australian and U.S. defense personnel, TS17 is one of the largest exercises in the world and illustrates the importance of the Australian and U.S. alliance.

During the exercise, Cubic provided specialist exercise planning, management and technical simulation support throughout Australia as well as participating countries. Cubic staff was also involved in scenario design and management, in addition to building, testing and operating the complex interconnected simulation networks. Additionally, Cubic Defence Australia was selected to be the Simulation Interactor as part of the theatre-level, bilateral and constructive simulation exercise, led by CGD’s Korea Battle Simulation Center.

Cubic holds the KBSC operations contract and supported the annual strategic UFG joint exercise, spanning the entirety of the Pacific, combining military forces from the U.S. and the Republic of Korea (ROK).

As the largest, distributed, simulation-driven exercise in the world, UFG is one of the few places where combined forces are tested and showcased. UFG is designed to train the Combined Forces Command, direct staff and other personnel on the planning and execution required to defend ROK in a possible attack from the north.

Industry: Cubic Awarded $20 Million Contract From the Royal Australian Air Force For New Air Combat Training System

Cubic to Deliver Next-Generation Training Technology to the Royal Australian Air Force

 

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Nov. 5, 2014 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) announced today that it was awarded a new contract valued at more than $20 million from the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) to provide the fifth generation Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (ACMI) P5 Tactical Combat Training System (P5 TCTS). The contract provides the Royal Australia Air force with a major increase in P5 TCTS allowing use across all Air Combat Group aircraft platforms for pilot training.

 

The P5 TCTS combat trainer is designed to provide real-time and post-mission training for air-to-air, air-to-ground, and surface-to-air combat missions by recording mission data and relaying time, space and positioning information between participating aircraft during training sorties. Key components of the system include GPS-enabled aircraft-mounted airborne instrumentation “pods” and ground stations, which will help aircrew to conduct, monitor and control air combat training and post-flight debriefing, as well as the flexibility to carry out anywhere, anytime training capability.

Industry: Cubic Awarded $57 Million Contract to Support the Korea Battle Simulation Center for the U.S. Army

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – August 11, 2014 – Cubic Applications, Inc., an operating company of the Mission Support Services business unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), was awarded a firm fixed price contract to operate the Korea Battle Simulation Center (KBSC) in providing battle simulation training support to the United States Forces Korea, the Eighth U.S. Army and other U.S. units and partner nations. Work will be performed in the Republic of Korea with an estimated completion date of March 31, 2019. 

 

The KBSC provides theater-level, manual and computer-assisted training exercises in the Republic of Korea, Japan, and other locations around the world. The training includes battle simulation training, live virtual gaming capabilities, planning and coordination, and facilitation of the four Services, Joint and Combined exercises, particularly in conjunction with the Pacific Theater region. 

Industry: Cubic Defense Systems Awarded ACMI Contract from Japan Air Self-Defense Forces

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – January 21, 2014 – Cubic Defense Systems, a subsidiary of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) announced today it received contracts valued at more than $12 million to supply additional rangeless Air Combat Training System (ACTS) equipment to the Japan Air Self Defense Forces (JASDF).

Cubic’s ACTS is a leading-edge system used for training fighter pilots in air-to-air and air-to-ground combat tactics. Using the latest generation GPS technology, it provides real-time feedback to pilots during training missions. It also records information during the mission that can be replayed for the aircrew post-mission for additional training value.

ACTS includes airborne instrumentation pods that are mounted to the aircraft and ground-based subsystems. The pods collect aircraft data during the mission and deliver real-time notifications to the cockpit through audible tones. The ground subsystems provide real-time display and post-mission debriefing using Cubic’s Individual Combat Aircrew Display System (ICADS) software.

The Cubic system is the Asia-Pacific standard for ACMI training and supports annual and semi-annual multinational exercises including: Red Flag Alaska, Exercise Pitch Black and Talisman Sabre in Australia, Max Thunder in South Korea, Cobra Gold in Thailand and Commando Sling in Singapore.
