News Story: Rival clash leaves 3 dead, property losses in northern Afghan town

TALUQAN, Afghanistan, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- At least three armed men were killed and four others wounded after a clash took place between two rival armed groups in northern Afghanistan's Takhar province, police said Wednesday.

"The incident took place in a local bazaar in Rustaq district township Wednesday morning, where two illegal armed groups led by Mullah Pirum Qul and Jamal, two local warlords, clashed each other, leaving three militiamen from both sides dead and heavy property losses inflicted on the shopkeepers," Abdul Khalil Aseer, provincial police spokesman, told Xinhua.
