SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- A 30-year-old civilian wounded in government forces firing succumbed Wednesday in hospital in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.
The civilian was hit by a bullet on Tuesday during protests and clashes against the killing of a top militant commander in Pulwama, about 27 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.
According to health officials, Akeel Ahmad Bhat was hit in chest with a bullet.
"This is the second civilian death because of government forces firing on protesters in the district in the two days," an official said.
