NEW DELHI, March 21 Xinhua) -- The Indian government said on Tuesday that it has completed fencing of border with Pakistan in its western state of Gujarat.
According to the government, no case of infiltration has been reported along the India-Pakistan border in Gujarat in the last three years.
The information was given by India's junior minister for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju in the parliament.
"The government of India has sanctioned 340 km length of fence along India-Pakistan border in Gujarat, out of which 280 km fence has been completed," Rijiju said. "The remaining 168 km stretch is to be covered through non-physical barrier i.e. technological solutions, as the site conditions were not found feasible for construction of fence due to marshy and water logged area."
