The Amnesty International (AI) report showed on Wednesday a police officer who took part in anti-illegal drug operations claimed he received up to P15,000 from Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters for every drug suspect he and the anti-illegal drug unit he belongs to kills.
According to the report, the police officer was assigned to an anti-illegal drugs unit in Metro Manila and has served for 13 years.
“We always get paid by the encounter. That’s the word we use, ‘encounter.’ The amount ranges from P8,000 to P15,000… based on their notoriety,” the policeman said as quoted by AI.
