The Japanese Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) deployed two Japanese F-15 fighter jets to Miyako Strait on Saturday to intercept Chinese warplanes while on a “routine training exercise in the Western Pacific,” Chinese ministry said in a statement.
The Japanese jets “endangered the safety of the Chinese aircraft and the crew” by approaching at a close range and “launching jamming shells,” said Chinese ministry spokesman, Senior Colonel Yang Yujun.
