News Story: Former Senator reveals recent military grant to PH is for ‘civil war’

Former Senator Francisco Tatad has claimed on Monday that the estimated P720-million grant to Philippines from China for the Philippine National Police will be used to buy firearms in preparation for a much bigger civil war that the government is reportedly preparing.

Tatad published in his column in Manila Times that “serious analysts are concerned that [Secretary to the Cabinet Jun] Evasco and company are preparing the nation not for a wider counter-narcotics war but for a ‘civil war.'”
