Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has previously threatened to “burn down” the main building of United Nations in the United States.
Comments came after international criticism mounts over his bloody crackdown on suspected drug dealers.
“You go and file a complaint in the United Nations, I will burn down the United Nations if you want,” Duterte said on December 17 in his speech in Zamboanga City.
UN human rights experts Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein has called on December 20 for the authorities in the Philippines to begin an investigation after Duterte boasted about personally gunning down criminal suspects while mayor of Davao City.
