News Story: Vietnamese peacekeeping lecturers receive training

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese peacekeeping lecturers were equipped with basic knowledge about peacekeeping operations during the two-week UN Capacity-Building Pre-Deployment Training Course in English.

Addressing the closing ceremony on November 4, Colonel Hoang Kim Phung, Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Centre, thanked UN agencies for their support to Vietnam in joining peacekeeping activities, especially the Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the Department of Field Support, which sent their experts to the course.

Vietnam has organised training courses at home and dispatched officers to overseas classes in preparation for the UN missions, he said, stressing that the country hopes to receive more assistance of the UN in this field.
