Jakarta (VNA) – The Chairman of the Committee I of Indonesia’s House of Representatives, Abdul Kharis Almasyhari, on November 24 urged the ASEAN member countries to take a more active role in resolving conflicts and putting an end to violence against Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
Thomas Vargas, Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Indonesia, described the situation in Myanmar’s northern Rakhine State as worrisome and assured that the office would work with authorities to seek long-term solutions to the Rohingya issue, reported Antara News.
