News Story: IED Blast Kills Commander As Nation Reels From Mosque Attack

An IED blast in Bagrami district of Kabul on Monday killed anti-terror commander of 111 Kabul army corps and wounded a ministry of defense staff member.

The incident happened early Monday morning while the officer was on his way to work. Just hours later, a suicide bomber detonated explosives at a mosque in the capital, killing at least 30 people and wounding over 50.

Although the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has not disclosed the identity of the IED blast victims, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) confirmed that the person killed in the blast was the ant-terror commander of 111 Kabul corps.

The incident took place in Bagrami district of Kabul.
