RAMALLAH, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- France is "determined" to hold an international peace conference amid the deteriorating situation in the Palestinian territories and the region, a Palestinian diplomat said Monday.
French special peace envoy Pierre Vimon stressed his country's willingness to hold the conference amid the deterioration in the region, especially in the Palestinian territories as a result of Israel's settlement expansion, Salman Al-Hirfy, Palestinian ambassador to France, told official Voice of Palestine radio.
A-Hirfy added he discussed with Vimont in Paris on Friday an experts committee meeting that was held a day earlier on the conference's preparations, including a final date for the event.
