News Story: Four PD6 Officials Dismissed Over Kabul Mosque Bombing

Officials at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Tuesday that four senior police officers from PD6 have been dismissed by the ministry after Monday's deadly suicide bombing at a mosque in Kabul city.

MoI on Tuesday dismissed the head of intelligence, the head of the criminal department, the head of the anti-terrorism department and the police chief of PD6, a spokesman for MoI, Sediq Sediqqi said.

A delegation has also been appointed to investigate the attack, he said.

On Monday, a Daesh suicide bomber targeted a Shia ceremony at a mosque in Char Qala in Kabul city in which over 30 people were killed and dozens others were injured.

Religious scholars said on Tuesday that suicide attacks have no legitimacy in Islam and instead tarnishes the image of this sacred religion.
