News Story: Indian PM to visit Vietnam

NEW DELHI, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be visiting Vietnam to promote bilateral relations between the two countries, officials said Friday.

Modi would embark on the tour to Vietnamese capital Friday evening.

"I will reach Hanoi in Vietnam, marking the start of a very important visit that will further cement the close bond between India and Vietnam," Modi said. "My government attaches a high priority to our bilateral relations with Vietnam."

Officials said Modi will meet Vietnam President Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc during the visit.
