News Story: Indian police bust major terror ring, detain 12 militants

NEW DELHI, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Indian police busted a major terror ring by detaining 12 militants on Wednesday during a series of raids in the Indian capital and its adjoining areas in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, sources said.

Acting on a tip-off from intelligence agencies, the Delhi Police carried out the raids and took into custody the 12 terrorists belonging to Pakistan-based militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed and seized huge cache of explosives and bomb-making materials from their possession, the sources said.

All those arrested by the cops are in their 30s and some are permanent residents of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, they said.
