AUS: Support contract for vital combat radio systems

Today Defence entered into a contract that will provide support to the next generation of military communications capability for the land elements of the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

The AUD $77 million multi-year contract has been awarded to Brisbane based company Harris Software Systems and will bring radio repair and sustainment services into Australia, enhancing the local support capability.

Providing essential support services and ongoing alignment with the rapidly evolving tactical communication capabilities, this vital contract will maintain more than 15,000 radios across Australia and deployed on operations.

It will ensure ADF personnel continue to operate with the latest military communications technologies and modern software-definable radios that form the tactical communications backbone of Defence.

Harris Software Systems is an Australian-based subsidiary of Harris Corporation, a leading supplier of communications and information technology.
