The North Koran leader, Kim Jong-un, has said that North Korea will continue launching satellites in the interests of scientific research, technology and the national economy, according to the Korean Central News Agency.
Kim Jong-un made his statement following the first successful launch of the artificial satellite Kwangmyongsong-3, or the Shining Star-3, on December 12th.
The launch triggered criticism from the international community, since test-firing ballistic missiles by North Korea runs counter to relevant UN Security Council resolutions. Pyongyang has refused to recognize the resolutions.
