Philippines: 3rd Marine Battalion Arrives for Retraining

Members of 3rd Marine Battalion disembarks from BRP Bacolod City (LC 550) after almost nine years of combating terrorist groups and lawless elements in Southern Philippines. The 3rd Marine Battalion is welcomed by VADM ALEXANDER P PAMA AFP, Flag Officer-In-Command, PN together with Fleet-Marine Commanders RADM JOSE LUIS M ALANO AFP, Commander of the Philippine Fleet and MGEN RUSTICO O GUERRERO AFP, Commandant of the Philippine Marine Corps during an Arrival Ceremony at Headquarters Philippine Navy last 13 August 2012. The Navy Command Team gave recognition to the battalion’s various accomplishments in support to peace and developmental efforts of the government. 

The Battalion will undergo re-training, refurbishing and the much needed rest and recreation for its Marines, before they will be redeployed to its new area of operations.
