CLARK FREEPORT, March 8 (PIA) -- Defense secretary Voltaire Gazmin will grace on Friday the blessing and turnover of the first four of the total eight brand new multi-purpose Sokol combat utility helicopters of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) in Clark, Pampanga.
PAF Public Information Office chief Lt. Col. Miguel Ernesto Okol said, “The choppers are part of the P2.8-billion acquisition contract between the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Polish manufacturer PZL Swidnik Co. that is in line with AFP’s Modernization Program.”
Okol added that the Sokol helicopters are expected to boost the search and rescue, medical evacuation and combat utility missions of the PAF as these six-ton class twin-engine air transport are proven to be reliable at all weather conditions.
