India: Towards Greater Jointness Air Marshal DC Kumaria Meets Lieutenant General Sr Ghosh

Air Marshal DC Kumaria, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Air Command is on a two day visit to Army’s Western Command at Chandimandir. The purpose of the visit is to co-chair the Air Force - Army Interactive Conference being held there.

Western Command headed by Lieutenant General SR Ghosh is one of the three affiliated Army Commands of Western Air Command, the other two being Northern Command and South Western Command.

As success in any battle depends largely upon ground and air forces operating together in support of shared military objectives, the visit saw the two commanders discuss issues of joint planning, conduct of concurrent operations and exercises as per the Joint Operational Doctrine, towards creating the requisite synergy between the two services.

With an aim towards continued interaction with its affiliated Army Commands contributing to greater operational efficiency, the visit of Air Marshal Kumaria to Headquarter Western Command is one of his first visits after he took over as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western Air Command.
