News Story: Military officials from Pakistan, Afghanistan, U.S. vow to eliminate Islamic State

ISLAMABAD, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Senior military officials from Pakistan, Afghanistan and the United Sates have expressed their commitment to eliminate the Islamic State from the region, the military said here on Thursday.

A six-member high-level Pakistani military delegation headed by Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Major General Sahir Shamshad Mirza participated in the meeting in the Afghan capital city of Kabul, said a statement from the army's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations.

"Participants re-affirmed their resolve to continue fight against the common threat of terrorism. Areas of mutual security interests and concerns were deliberated upon during the interaction," the statement said.
