The Kandahar Youth Council on Thursday welcomed US President Donald Trump’s new war strategy for Afghanistan and South Asia and said they were in full support of the move.
They said Trump’s move was in the interests of Afghanistan and the region.
The council also urged the Afghan government to consider the expansion of the role of the youth in the decision making process.
The remarks were made during a special gathering in Kabul.
Youth delegations from Zabul, Helmand and Uruzgan provinces also joined the council and announced support for the new strategy.
“The US as a trusted and strategic partner provides the legal and political balance in the region and the world and takes part as a powerful partner to create balance in regional politics,” said Jawed Faisal, a member of Kandahar's youth council.
“The Afghans must analyze their good and bad neighbors to know them better and support the government,” said another member of Kandahar youth council Toofan Waziri.
