SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Two militants were killed Monday in a fierce gunfight with contingents of police and Indian army in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.
The gunfight between militants and government forces broke out at Sopore in Baramulla district, about 52 km northwest of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.
"This morning a gunfight triggered in Chak Brath village between militants and joint contingents of police and army. During the fierce exchange of fire two militants were killed," a senior police officer posted in Sopore told Xinhua.
