KABUL, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Five Taliban militants were killed following an airstrike conducted by Afghan Special Forces in Afghanistan's eastern province of Nangarhar on Monday, the government military said.
"On Monday morning, on a confirmed tip off, Afghanistan Operational Coordination Group (AOCG) carried out an airstrike on a Taliban position in Sherzad district, Nangarhar province, killing five members of Taliban terrorist group," AOCG or command of Special Forces said in a statement.
The elimination of the targeted militants would further improve the public security in the eastern provinces, the statement added.
