MANILA, Philippines - Government security forces have recaptured 15 more buildings formerly occupied by the Maute terrorists as fighting continued in Marawi City, leaving another soldier dead, the military said yesterday.
There are around 600 more structures located in the city’s central business district, the theater of the military operations, that still have to be cleared by government troops.
Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) spokesman Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla said that as of yesterday, the government fatalities had increased to 93.
“Government fatalities is now 93 while enemies killed, the number is now at 399 and 502 of the terrorists firearms have been recovered,” Padilla said.
