News Story: Germany Had Intel Ahead Of Deadly Truck-Bombing

Just six days before the May 31 truck bombing in Kabul city, Germany was reportedly warned of the imminent attack. 

According to Deutsche Welle (DW), the German Foreign Ministry confirmed on Friday that Germany’s intelligence agencies knew the Kabul embassy in the Green Zone was about to be hit. 

DW reported that security agencies had received warnings from multiple intelligence sources in the months leading up to the attack. As a result, a number of embassy staff had been evacuated from the building prior to the attack. 

The embassy building was largely destroyed in the bombing. 

Over 180 people are believed to have been killed in the bombing, which also injured hundreds more.
