SHIBERGHAN, Afghanistan, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Police seized sacks of ammunition from a truck in the northern Jawzjan province of Afghanistan and arrested two persons on charge of smuggling on Wednesday, provincial police chief Rahmatullah Turkistani said.
"The smugglers placed more than 100 mortar mines in several bags inside a truck that was carrying bags of ladyfingers and melons from Kunduz to Jawzjan province onward to armed insurgents in Faryab province but fortunately police discovered and seized the contraband," Turkistani told Xinhua.
