Kabul Protestors March Through Presidential Palace
A large number of Kabul residents and civil society activists staged protests in different groups on Friday morning, marching through Zanbaq Circle, where a massive blast claimed at least 100 lives and wounded almost 600 others on Wednesday.
The protestors said they will march through the Presidential Palace to raise their voice against insecurity and the recent deadly incidents in the country.
The protests started at 8am Kabul time on Friday in various parts of the city including Khairkhana in Kabul’s PD15, the airport road and Kote Sangi in Kabul’s west.
The protestors chanted slogans against security heads and against the National Unity Government leaders – President Ashraf Ghani and CEO Abdullah Abdullah.
They claimed that government leaders have failed to ensure the safety of Afghans across the country.

Army Moves In To Clear Streets Of Protestors
The Afghan National Army has moved in to clear the streets of protestors trying to reach the Presidential Palace.
As gunshots rang out, TOLOnews journalist Samim Faramarz said on the phone to TOLOnews.com that police were firing above people’s heads while a Humvee also opened fire on demonstrators.
Protestors have however been pushed back to 15th Street in Wazir Akbar Khan, which is just a few hundred meters from the scene of Wednesday’s deadly truck bombing.
Angry protestors not only stoned fire trucks and security force vehicles but have also been chanting “Down With (President Ashraf) Ghani”, “Down With the CEO (Abdullah Abdullah)” and “Down With The U.S”.
