TOKYO (Kayodo) -- Japanese and North Korean diplomats met briefly on the sidelines of an international conference in the Mongolian capital Ulan Bator, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said Friday.
Shigeki Takizaki, deputy director general of the ministry's Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, met Ri Yong Pil, deputy head of the North Korean Foreign Ministry's Institute for American Studies, on Thursday and told him that Tokyo cannot tolerate Pyongyang's nuclear and missile development, it said.
