News Story: Ghani Warns Countries Against Fueling The War

By Mir Aqa Popalzai

President Ashraf Ghani on Monday warned that countries supporting terrorism and militancy will face serious consequences and will destroy their own people by fueling the war in Afghanistan.

He called on these countries, which he did not name, to rather support peace and development in Afghanistan.

Ghani said that Afghanistan’s door is open to all those supporting peace in the country, but said the people of Afghanistan will not be demoralized by acts of terror and violence.

“Whoever attacks Afghanistan and kills the people, they should realize that it will not deter us from our determination. This country will welcome all those who come here as guests, but if they come as an enemy, they will be eliminated,” Ghani said.

Ghani’s calls for the elimination of militant groups and for neighboring countries to stop interfering comes as lawmakers in parliament raised deep concerns over the growing activities of the Taliban near Kabul.
