TOKYO, May 16 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan on Tuesday left its port home of Yokosuka, south of Tokyo, to begin a patrol, the Japanese Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier had been scheduled to leave Yokosuka on Monday but its departure was delayed due to mechanical issues.
