Dozens of residents and tribal elders from both sides of the Durand Line blamed Pakistan on Tuesday of supporting and training terrorists and stated that Daesh is also supported by some circles within Pakistan.
Speaking at a gathering in Nangarhar they urged Pakistan to stop “supporting terrorists”, saying Daesh was a serious threat to the region.
The residents vowed to cooperate with the Afghan security forces in their efforts to eliminate insurgents.
“Pakistan is destroying our homes on the other side of the Durand Line. We are not terrorists. It is Pakistan that has turned Daesh into a big force on the two sides of the Durand Line,” said Zarjan Shinwari, head of a tribal council on the Pakistan side of the Durand Line.
The participants at the gathering said Pakistani military in plain clothes come into the tribal belt areas and intimidate people.
“We witnessed many things. Many were killed and this process continues. But we cannot talk anymore and we cannot say what we want,” said Hayat Massoud, a tribal elder from Waziristan.
