News Story: Myanmar peace conference to enter union agreement on 33 points after reaching consent

NAY PYI TAW, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar' 21st Century Panglong Peace Conference will enter into a formal union agreement Monday on 33 points of consent reached sectorwise, according to a press conference late on Sunday evening.

The 33 points out of 41, presented by the Union Peace Dialogue Joint Committee (UPDJC) and discussed sectorwise throughout the conference, include 12 points with the political sector, 11 with the economic sector, four with the social sector and six with the land and environment sector, UPDJC secretariat member U Zaw Htay told the press.

The 33-point union agreement will represent the first step towards establishing a union of democracy and federal system, he said.
