BEIJING, May 24 (Xinhua) -- China voiced support for all the efforts of Myanmar to achieve peace and national reconciliation, as a peace conference opened in Naypyidaw Wednesday.
China hoped all parties would adhere to dialogue and consultation and make the conditions for lasting peace in the Southeast Asian country, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang said at a daily press briefing.
The second meeting of the 21st Century Panglong Peace Conference of Myanmar attracted about 1,400 representatives from the government, parliament, military, political parties, ethnic armed organizations and civil society.
