KABUL, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Forty-three armed militants were killed during the latest military operation in different Afghan provinces, the country's Interior Ministry said on Sunday.
"In the past 24 hours, Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched eight counter-terrorism operations in Kunar, Wardak, Nangarhar, Zabul, Logar and Kunduz provinces. As a result, 43 armed militants were killed and eight others wounded," the ministry said in a statement.
Among the killed militants, there were 17 fighters of the Islamic State (IS) group, the statement added.
