News Story: Pulse Asia poll - Fewer Filipinos find Duterte trustworthy

MANILA, Philippines — After nine months in office, President Rodrigo Duterte saw a drop in his performance and trust ratings, according to the Pulse Asia survey released Wednesday.

The president's performance rating dipped from 83 percent in December 2016 to 78 percent in March this year. Meanwhile, his trust rating declined from 83 percent in December last year to 76 percent in March 2017.

Duterte's trust rating remains highest in Mindanao and Visayas with 90 percent and 84 percent, respectively. This is despite a two- and three- percent drop in his ratings in the regions.

The president obtained the biggest decrease in his trust rating in balance Luzon with 67 percent, a 10-point drop from his 77-percent rating in the region last quarter.

In Metro Manila, Duterte saw a five-point drop in his trust rating from 79 percent last quarter to 74 percent in March.
