News Story: PM vows to facilitate Vietnam-Thailand military cooperation

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception in Hanoi on April 5 for General Surapong Suwana-Adth, Chief of Defence Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, during which he promised to create favourable conditions for the Vietnamese and Thai armies to step up cooperation.

PM Phuc welcomed the official visit by General Suwana-Adth, describing it as an important contribution to the enhancement of the friendship between the two countries and cooperation between the two armies.

Having expressed his delight at the sound development of the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership, he affirmed that promoting friendship and cooperation with Thailand is always one of the top priorities in Vietnam’s foreign policy with ASEAN.

PM Phuc applauded the outcomes of the earlier talks between General Suwana-Adth and Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army. He also evaluated the two defence ministries’ cooperation, especially since their cooperation agreement was inked in 2012.
