At least 25 insurgents were killed and 34 others were wounded in an Afghan security forces operation in Sar-e-Pul, local officials said.
Sar-e-Pul provincial governor Zahir Wahdat said the operation was launched one week ago in insecure parts of the province and is on going.
Wahdat meanwhile has warned insurgents that if they do not join the peace process they will be eliminated.
“Since the beginning of the operation 25 insurgents were killed and 34 others were wounded,” Wahdat said.
