Hanoi (VNA) – The Netherlands wishes to expand relations with Vietnam, including cooperation in peacekeeping activities between the two countries’ armies, said Dutch Ambassador to Vietnam Nienke Trooster.
The diplomat made the remark during a meeting with Deputy Defence Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen Nguyen Chi Vinh in Hanoi on March 14 when she led a delegation from the Netherlands’s Ministry of Defence to visit the Vietnamese senior officer.
She said defence cooperation between the two countries has contributed to enhancing bilateral ties.
Briefing the host on the results of a working session between the delegation and representatives of Vietnam’s Peace Keeping Centre, the ambassador said the two sides agreed to boost exchanges of experts, experience sharing and training support for peacekeeping.
