Economic as well as political organizations in the region have an important role in ensuring greater security in Afghanistan, says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At a session on Wednesday officials of the department said the continued lack of a secure economic environment has hampered the implementation of regional projects in Afghanistan.
They added that the regional countries will work on five major projects as part of regional cooperation with Afghanistan.
“The Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan [RECCA] needs cooperation because despite political challenges. Insecurity impedes major regional projects to be implemented properly,” the Deputy Foreign Minister Hekmat Khalil Karzai said.
