The chief of the Philippine National Police on Monday suspended controversial anti-narcotics operations to make way for a new campaign to cleanse police ranks dubbed as ‘war on bad cops.’
Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte admitted that the police force prosecuting his brutal war on drugs was “corrupt to the core.”
“You policemen are the most corrupt. You are corrupt to the core. It’s in your system,” Mr. Duterte said on Sunday as he railed against Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (AIDG) chief.
