KABUL, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- The United Arab Emirates ambassador to Afghanistan was among several injured after two blasts rocked Kandahar city, capital of southern province of Kandahar on Tuesday night, sources said.
"The UEA (UAE) diplomats were visiting Kandahar for inauguration of a hospital there. The blasts took place inside governor's guesthouse at around 7:00 p.m. resulting in multiple casualties. The UEA (UAE) ambassador, one embassy staff and Governor of Kandahar Homayoun Azizi were among the injured," a provincial source told Xinhua.
The initial information found that at least five people were killed and more than one dozen people were injured in the incident, the source told Xinhua anonymously, adding that the wounded people were in stable condition
"More information about the incident will be released later," he said.
