News Story: PH FA-50 fighter jets bombing rebels

Philippines Air Force FA-50PH Fighter Aircraft
FA-50PH has bared its teeth as it bomb on Thursday the Insurgent’s camp with a night air strike at Butig, Lanao del Sur.

This shows the role of the FA-50PH as a Surface Attack Aircraft(SAA) and also shows that this jets are not only for “display” and “ceremonial Fly by”.

Two new FA-50 lead-in jets dropped bombs in Butig, which was followed by an airplane and an attack helicopter.

Meanwhile, no mention was made on what type of bombs were used, but the PAF’s FA-50s are capable of using an assortment of dumb and smart bombs. In this case its possible that the PAF used standard unguided Mk.82 500lb bombs instead of some of its Paveway II laser guided bombs.
