News Story: China finally declared to ‘uphold’ international rule of law

China is committed to upholding world peace through by and large means, most importantly with all the ruling bodies across the world, Chinese President Xi Jiping said on Wednesday.

In a 45-minute speech before the United Nations (UN), Xi said “big countries should treat smaller countries as equals instead of acting as a hegemon, imposing their will on others.”

Speaking alongside the new UN secretary general Antonio Guterres, he stressed “no country should open the Pandora’s box by willfully waging wars or undermining the international rule of law.”

Xi added: “The essence of sovereign equality is that the sovereignty and dignity of all countries, whether big or small, strong or weak, rich or poor, must be respected, their internal affairs allow no interference and they have the right to independently choose their social system and development path.”

...tell that to Vietnam, a country that walks a very fine line not to antagonize China, Laos and Cambodia that do China's bidding at ASEAN meetings, Burma that's trying to get out from under China's shadow, Taiwan that's being strangled into submission, Japan whose borders a pushed on every day, not to mention the South China Sea dispute with The Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan and Indonesia's Natuna Islands EEZ then of course there's Tibet and Xinjiang, both of witch were taken by force.
