Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said last week that President Rodrigo Duterte’s promise to double the salaries of soldiers and policemen will be “doable” in 2018.
If approved by congress, a hundred percent (100%) pay increase will start in January next year, said DBM Secretary Benjamin Diokno.
Since Duterte assumed office last year, he visited military and police camps and repeatedly assured soldiers and policemen that they would receive a 100 percent increase in pay by last month.
“You look at your pay envelope in December, you will have double what you are receiving,” he said.
