The information bureau said a ‘government-to-government’ defense deal between Philippines and China has been prepared in line with the supply of Chinese materiel to the Southeast Asian country, IHS Jane’s 360 reports.
On coming Monday, the agreement will be discussed during the Defence secretary Delfin Lorenzana’s visit to Beijing. It will focus on securing defence trade deals, with an initial emphasis on firearms to support the Philippines’ long-running counter-insurgency operations.
