Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysia’s Court of Appeal has announced that there will be no leniency in judging members and supporters of the Islamic State (IS).
In a report on recent terrorism-related cases, the court said it has issued heavier sentences for IS supporters since the beginning of 2016.
In the latest case recorded, the Kuala Lumpur High Court sentenced house builder Muhammad Kasyfullah Kassim, 38, to five years imprisonment for supporting IS activities in Syria. The sentence later changed to 12 years by the Court of Appeal.
