UNITED NATIONS, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- President of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) Meng Hongwei met with incoming UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Tuesday to discuss cooperation on global security.
Meng congratulated Guterres on becoming the next UN secretary-general and stressed that the Interpol will support him to fulfill his responsibilities as the UN chief.
Meng said the Interpol is willing to enhance strategic communication with the UN on major issues concerning global security and stands ready to work with the UN to maintain international security and stability.
