News Story: Indonesia parliament ratifies sea border agreement with Singapore

Singapore (VNA) – The Indonesian Parliament on December 15 ratified a sea border agreement with Singapore demarcating maritime boundaries in the eastern stretch of the Singapore Strait, local media reported.

The agreement was approved by a majority of lawmakers, said Fahri Hamzah, Deputy Speaker for the Indonesian Parliament.

The Parliament has endorsed the government to further cooperate with Singapore to ensure national economic interests and security, according to Hanafi Rais, Deputy Chairman of the House Commission for defense and foreign affairs.
